Journey to the future

My journey to the future is everyday

So daily I think of a better way

A better way to function

Because I recognize my dysfunction

Which will lead to my destruction

So I strive to see through obstruction

And have better production

My journey to the future is everyday

So I strive to love

In a world that has none

My journey is not an easy one

As I watch people become undone

A people that had hope

But lost it due to the dope

That was given to us by a pope

Who wanted to see the destruction

Of a collective that had production

Now please don't be offended friend

This is just my observation until the end

My journey to the future is right on time

Through writing, I can heal myself

And possibly a nation

If I keep the dedication

And people let go of their dysfunction

My journey to the future will force me to grow

So I must be cautious of the things I sow

So I march on forward

And see what im going toward

Understanding that my journey to the future is here now.๐Ÿ™

Feel like giving up on your dream? Try this instead๐ŸŒน

I enjoy writing. Writing has become my space to dream and create. I share the things that I create so others can be inspired by them. However, sometimes I wonder if I am inspiring anyone. Sometimes I wonder if I am provoking thought. When those days spring up, I want to stop sharing. But then I'm reminded of running a race. At times in a long race or walk, it's times where you can get extremely tired and need a break. For example, yesterday I was outside in the park with the children. My son would not allow me to sit down at all but he wanted me to walk around the path of the park. So we walked and walked and walked. I started thinking about life and the many journeys we face in it. I decided to take off my sandals and walk barefoot on the ground. I noticed I had to walk slower because it was hard to walk. I had to watch for nails, glass, or anything that can poke my feet. I was more conscious of my walk. I had to pay attention to the path in detail. I realized that moments in life will cause us to slow down and pay attention to our walk. It causes us to move at a slower pace. So today I want to say to you all keep walking, keep the focus on your goals and keep focusing on your walk. I'm the only one who can walk my walk and im going to walk it with my entire being by being present. Slow down your walk if you need to. I hope you all have a wonderful day and remember to be present always ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน

In and out of time response by maya angelou

In and out of time

The sun has come.

The mist has gone.

We see in the distance...

our long way home.

Me: In my life, I have gone through many cloudy days. I wasn't sure of the outcome, or if I wanted to continue. But life has a way of showing me the greater outcome, or the road clearly after the storm. It's a long way to go, but I can see the brightness of a beautiful future

I was always yours to have.

You were always mine.

We have loved each other in and out of time.

Me: Time is no longer a factor when you love with all your heart and all your being. Choosing to love in and out of time is an eternal love that only the Creator can give. We have this love in part while we strive to be better people.

When the first stone looked up at the blazing sun

and the first tree struggled up from

forest floor

I had always loved you more.

Me: A love that can be felt when visualizing the beauty of nature

You freed your braids...

gave your hair to the breeze.

It hummed like a hive of honey bees.

I reached in the mass for the sweet honey comb there...

Mmmm... God how I love your hair.

Me: Love in all of its forms and its purest state happens over time. The sweetness and ripeness of a love that has been restored after trauma is such a beauty to see.

You saw me bludgeoned by circumstance.

Lost, injured, hurt by chance.

I screamed to the heavens... loudly screamed...

Trying to change our nightmares into dreams...

Me: Love has helped me through many life circumstances, and this love has chosen not to give up on me even in my worst cases. This love sought me out and stayed with me and didn't let me go even when I was angry at love. While being hurt In Yah, silent In Yah and depressed In Yah, love has brought me out still InYah๐ŸŒน

The sun has come.

The mist has gone.

We see in the distance our long way home.

I was always yours to have.

You were always mine.

We have loved each other in and out

in and out

in and out

of time ๐ŸŒน

Me: I'm choosing to love daily even when life hurts. Yahs hand has kept me holding on to hope even when I thought hope was lost. Love has guided me back to peace even when I don't have all the answers. But in the distance, I can see home and love will bring me there๐ŸŒน

Caged Bird By Maya Angelou

A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn
and he names the sky his own

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

Which one are you? Which one do you choose to be? If you are the one in a cage, how do you expect to become free? To the free one, how did you achieve said freedom? Is the bird in captivity any different than the free bird? Could the bird in captivity be freer than the actual bird that’s not in a cage? Last question, Have I provoked thought today?๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน
