Today's post is based upon a book reference called The Alchemist. I’ve heard about this book but never actually read it. After taking the time and reading, things started to change in my life and my homeschooling life. I want the children to understand that life is a journey. Every day you may not feel good. There are days when you may feel like you are at a crossroads and just don’t know what to do. These are the times to be careful of who or what is being poured into you. The heart has entered a very fragile place and if not protected, words spoken can destroy it. When we homeschool I have the opportunity to see everything our children say, act or feel. I learned facial expressions of irritation if they don’t want to do schoolwork. I know the face of frustration or tiredness. I can see the fragile places in their hearts as well. These times can be challenging but we managed to get through because I’m a talker. I can talk all day lol. So I will sit them down and we will talk out how they are feeling and why they feel this way. They are now reading The Alchemist because one day they will have their journey, their meeting with the King. At that moment the king will guide them on their path and they will face crossroads. When we face times like this in our journey, we pray. I’m teaching them to pray because it builds faith and trust. If they don’t have the words to say openly I have them write it out (which can be used as a writing assignment while you homeschool). In The Alchemist we see Santiago on a journey looking for treasure. His journey is filled with doubt, confusion, fears, and miracles. Eventually, he realized that his treasure was with him all along he just had to dig to get it. This is what homeschooling is about. This is what life is about. Sometimes we have to make tough choices at our crossroads. When the seasons change so do our crossroads so when you get to that place respond accordingly and receive the message. That's all for now, I hope I was able to provoke thought today. Peace๐น
Matthew 6:19-21
[19]Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
[20]But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
[21]For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Think about this verse and how it reflects your life choices.๐น๐น
