What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up

Like a raisin in the sun?

No it doesn’t. A deferred dream is just one that takes longer to manifest. Sometimes life puts you to the test to see if you'll be like the rest and give up. 

Or fester like a sore--

And then run?

It can if you allow it to. Sometimes you have to see your dreams through and remain positive even in the negative 

Does it stink like rotten meat?

Or crust and sugar over--

like a syrupy sweet?

If you allow your dreams to sit out for days and days then absolutely your dream will not stay. You have to make your dreams sweet so your dreams will be complete

Maybe it just sags

like a heavy load.

Or does it explode

It can sag if you are carrying it around not doing anything with. Eventually it can explode into a pool of success, and then my friend you will have no regrets.

So in conclusion, a dream deferred is not a finished or forsaken dream. It's just lying dormant and taking a little longer to manifest or come forth. So at the end of the day it's a choice. Choose this day who's dream you will follow. Your dreams or the dreams that others have planned for you? Cheers and I hope I have provoked thought today. As we transition into the fall let's be creative without our dreams and work on bringing them forth. 🌹

This also teaches younger children and even some adults to have a healthy conversation and come to conclusions.
